In continuation of my confidential despatch of
the 29th July, I have the honour to transmit the enclosed copy
of a letter addressed to His Britannic Majesty's Minister, Peking, by His Britannic Majesty's Consul-General at Canton, from which it appears that the disabilities under which the Green Island Cement Co. suffered with regard to their obtaining supplies of limestone are now satisfactorily removed, though
Mr Jamieson sees little prospect of the Company's obtaining
satisfaction in respect of their clain against the Provincial
Government.
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE
LEWIS HARCOURT, M.P..
&c.,
&c.
I have the honour to be,
sir.
Your most obedient,
humble servant,
Annay.
Governor, &c.
